The Five-Star Scale

Every review on Transperis uses a 1 to 5 star rating scale. Here is what each level generally represents:

5 Stars: Excellent experience. The business exceeded expectations.

4 Stars: Very good experience. Minor issues, if any.

3 Stars: Average experience. Some things were good, others were not.

2 Stars: Below average. Significant issues with the experience.

1 Star: Poor experience. Major problems that were not resolved.

How Overall Ratings Are Calculated

A business's overall rating is the simple average of all individual review ratings. If a business has ten reviews with ratings of 5, 5, 4, 4, 4, 3, 5, 4, 5, and 4, the overall rating would be 4.3 stars. Every review carries equal weight regardless of when it was posted.

Why Ratings Matter

Ratings give you a quick snapshot of how other customers feel about a business. They are most useful when combined with reading the actual review text. A 4.2-star business with 200 reviews is generally a safer bet than a 5.0-star business with only 2 reviews, because the larger sample size gives you a more reliable picture.

Rating Distribution

On each business profile, you can see a breakdown of how many reviews fall into each star level. This distribution can be very informative. A business with mostly 5-star and 1-star reviews tells a different story than one with mostly 4-star reviews.
